Competitive Excellence

Giving to strengthening competitive excellence means maximizing our student-athletes’ full potential with the best coaches and training personnel the ACC has to offer. These current-use investments make a real-time impact on our teams’ ability to win. When you give, you build talent, grit, and pride and give student-athletes and coaches the resources necessary to compete at the highest level in the ACC.

This fund supports sports that draw attention on the national stage, enhancing the brand of the entire University and giving William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond and the athletics department the flexibility to designate funding where it is needed most.

  • Gifts to the Flynn Fund allow the athletics department the flexibility to allocate resources where they are most needed. These gifts assist with expenses for travel, equipment, and apparel and help fund scholarships not covered by the endowment.

Sport-Specific Support

  • All 31 sports programs can receive gifts that provide incremental support to their operating budgets. These investments are essential for the operation of many Olympic sports programs, enabling expansion of their competitive and recruiting horizons both nationally and around the globe.

I reached greater heights than I ever thought I could.

Facility Enhancements

Giving to facility enhancements means investing in powerful recruiting tools, including cutting-edge practice resources that will attract the next generation of student-athletes. In addition, facilities provide essential training spaces, allowing our student-athletes to work at all hours and in all temperatures so that when the lights come on and it’s game-day, they are ready to perform at the highest level.

This fund supports practice facilities, locker rooms, strength and conditioning rooms, sports medicine, nutrition areas, donor-seating, and other operational spaces and facility costs.

Men’s and Women’s Basketball Facility Enhancements

  • Incremental investment in Conte Forum and Powers Gym are pivotal to supporting our ascending men’s and women’s basketball teams. Numerous opportunities exist to ensure our Eagles have access to the best training and practice facilities in the ACC.

Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Facility Enhancements

  • Paramount to continuing our winning tradition is the continual investment in our men’s and women’s ice hockey facilities. Numerous opportunities exist to ensure our Eagles have access to the best training and practice facilities in Hockey East.

Harrington Athletics Village Phase II

  • In March 2018, Boston College unveiled Harrington Athletics Village, a state-of-the-art shared sports complex supporting BC baseball, softball, and intramurals. Phase II will provide necessary indoor support facilities for baseball and softball, including batting tunnels, locker rooms, and team lounges.

Olympic Sports Enhancements

  • Boston College is distinctive among NCAA schools in its commitment to supporting 31 varsity teams. Renovation of our Olympic sports locker rooms and facilities will reaffirm our vision for a diverse portfolio of sports and experiences that attracts the world’s best student-athletes to BC.

Connell Recreation Center

  • The Connell Recreation Center redefines the future of fitness and recreation at Boston College. Set to open in summer 2019, the 244,000-square-foot, four-story structure off St. Thomas More Road includes individual and group training areas; an aquatics center with lap and instructional pools; a gymnasium; an indoor jogging track; and a mind-body studio.

Boston College is all for each other. If someone’s down, someone is going to help you up.

Student-Athlete Formation

True to its Jesuit roots, Boston College is dedicated to the holistic development of our student-athletes so they operate with integrity, passion, and discipline as leaders in and outside the classroom.

This fund provides scholarships, enhanced academic support, tutoring for student-athletes, and staff dedicated to providing development opportunities that help student-athletes find community service projects and jobs.

Office of Student-Athlete Academic Support (SAAS)

  • Boston College Athletics has the smallest academic support staff of any school in the ACC. To live our mission, we must care for each student-athlete’s academic growth as much as for his or her athletic development. By giving to the Office of Student-Athlete Academic Support, a partnership with the Office of the Provost, you can directly invest in our more than 750 student-athletes to ensure that our teams consistently rank among the top three in the ACC for academic performance.

Student-Athlete Health and Wellness

  • Boston College aspires to adopt a student-athlete-centric approach to administering performance, health, and wellness programming, one anchored in the latest research in sports science, athletic performance, behavioral health, and performance nutrition. Additional investment is necessary to bring about this vision. Gifts to student-athlete health and wellness will help establish programs and services that not only ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes, but also foster their physical and emotional well-being both now and in life after BC.

Scholarships

  • For a student-athlete, there may be no greater feeling of joy than when he or she gets “the call” informing them they have received a scholarship to attend Boston College. For BC Athletics, scholarships constitute a significant $20 million annual expense across 272 merit-based positions. You can make the dream of donning maroon and gold a reality by establishing an endowed or current-use scholarship in your family’s name, and bring the next great champion to Chestnut Hill.

It’s an honor to put that jersey on.

Join us and help student-athletes reach greater heights.
